DID YOU KNOW the Sonoran Desert is the hottest desert in all of North America? During the summer, temps can be as high as 120F with less then 15in of rain per year. Even with high temps & such little rain, the Sonoran Desert is the only place on earth that the ever so famous & beautiful saguaro grow. It is also considered the most diverse desert in the world, boasting with plant & animal life across it's vast landscapes. Most people think of the desert as a dry, dead, barren place.
There are more than 200 species of plats at home in this desert, in addition to more than 600 species of animals. Sadly, cacti are the fifth most endangered organism in the world. Without them, desert life would lose a vital source of food and habitat. Desert demise can in time, lead to cascading effects on global climate, vegetation, all wildlife & even human populations. It is my desire to bring awareness to the beauty of our desert, in hopes to increase conservation efforts for it's life within.
All items listed are handmade with love, 100% inspired by nature! ~ the Sonoran Desert. Real cactus and wild harvest plants for ALL products listed on the page are harvested & sourced from within Tucson, Arizona. A percentage of all sales is donated to conservation efforts. This small business opened last year, operating approximately 5 full months and donated over $1200 to wildlife conservation, in addition to about $500 in product to charity, community fundraisers & clothing banks. We were able to see cash donations go towards planting new saguaro to restore its dying population, trail restoration, habitat maintenance and animal rescue. In addition to live markets, I have decided to bring my handmade products to the world of Etsy, to see how much more awareness we can create & how much more of an impact we can have on our desert!
